: at night, all 13 rotten-straw "Shaheds" were shot down, but there were 5 more ballistic missiles – the consequences of their hits are still unknown (April 5, 2024 at 8:03).
The SRG contains internal headings – very approximate and incompetent, which only confuse researchers (detailed explanation – lower). I call the groups of records after the headings blocks, for example, the Kyiv block.
The units of research will not be these blocks, but groups selected by me. The main basis for the selection of groups is not geography, but a change in the level of competence, which indicates a change in the local source of the group. Since the groups are research constructs, I put their names in quotation marks, for example, the "Hypatian" group. Sometimes we will need them subgroups are parts of groups, separated mainly on the basis of geographical proximity.
Blocks and groups in my work are terms that are used according to these definitions.
Many names in the SRG coincide with modern ones or are close to them. Other names need searching and commenting.
Consideration of each group is accompanied by maps.
Calculations of the entropy of lists will be used to assess the quality of individual groups of objects in the SRG [Zharkikh N. I. Geography of Crimean jarlyks of the 15th and 16th centuries. – Kyiv: 2024, section "Order and disorder in lists»].
We will also need a concept foreign objects. As we will soon see, almost every group of objects has a compact core and one or more objects very far from this core. They give the impression of being listed by mistake or by accident. Their removal from group analysis significantly reduces its entropy, which may serve as some justification for the removal procedure.
For the objective definition of foreign objects, we will introduce the concept group diameter. This is the largest distance between objects within group. Often it coincides with the diameter of the circle circumscribed around the group. When foreign objects are removed, the diameter of the group is greatly reduced.
