The register book (1514)

Nicholas Zharkikh

Shortened text of the section.
Full text in ukrainian version.

Kyiv, stupid night, rain. I wake up to the sounds of distant but distinct explosions – 3:55. Over the next five minutes I counted 17 explosions – probably the Muscovites attacked with their rockets.

Wrote about the attack ballistic rockets, 8 injured, damage in Dniprovsky, Desnyansky and Darnytsky districts. Traffic blocked on Boryspilska Street – there is an industrial zone on one side of it, maybe the Muscovites wanted to hit there. Or maybe they aimed at the kindergarten across the street. You can expect anything from the Muscovites (October 25, 2025 at 8:10).

Air Force reported, that the Muscovites launched 9 Iskander ballistic missiles, of which 4 were shot down. Since ballistic missiles are shot down mainly in Kyiv, I assume that 16 counter-missiles were used. Observers now note that the Iskanders have been modernized, and now one attack missile requires 2 to 4 anti-aircraft missiles. Apparently, that was the case that night.

In addition, write already about two dead and 13 injured, also about fire in food warehouses on the left bank of Kyiv (October 25, 2025 at 1:47 p.m.).

Since both the war as a whole and the campaign of 1514 were initiated by Moscow, at the beginning of the anthology of documentary reports an extract from the complete, detailed edition of the Moscow war register book (razryadnaya kniga) for 1475–1605 should be presented. I omit fragments that do not concern the Smolensk campaign, noting the following places: […]

Notes

The text shows some signs of later editing. Yes, Prince Andrew, brother of Grand Duke Vasyl, is named Starytsky, although he received Starytsia as an estate only in 1519, therefore, in 1514 no one could have known that he would one day become prince of Starytsia.

Also Tsarevich Peter named son-in-law of Vasyl, although according to modern terminology he is Vasyl’s brother-in-law (husband of sister).

And the Air Force confirm that all 4 ballistic missiles were shot down over Kyiv (October 25, 2025 at 9:18 p.m.).
