This powerful defensive wall built in 1538. It is extremely thick, designed to counter artillery fire and has extensive ground combat, which could set the gun. The wall defended the Great suburb, including Zaryaddya.
In 1934 most of the wall was torn down, only small fragments survived. One of them in the Zaryaddya represented in the photo.
